MEET ANNA SHEA
Anna Shea (she/her) is a senior BFA Musical Theatre student at Indiana University Bloomington whose work spans performance, choreography, directing, and live music. A performer and creative collaborator with an entrepreneurial spirit, Anna Shea is passionate about bringing stories to life both onstage and behind the scenes.
At Indiana University, Anna Shea has appeared in Head Over Heels (Ensemble), The Prom (Kaylee), and Merrily We Roll Along (Reporter). Her professional work in Bloomington includes performing in the ensemble of A Christmas Story at Constellation Stage & Screen, where she will return for the upcoming production of Annie this winter. In summer 2026, she performed in Johnnie’s Song, a new work, and served as Assistant Choreographer and Dance Captain. Her credits also include performances at Walnut Street Theatre and Bucks County Playhouse in the Philadelphia region.
Beyond performing, Anna Shea is drawn to the collaborative process of creating theatre. At IU, she has served as Assistant Director and Choreographer for a faculty production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Most recently, she spearheaded a student production of Mean Girls, developing the proposal for university approval, securing grant funding, overseeing licensing, and assembling the creative team before co-directing and co-choreographing the production.
Anna Shea also brings her love of music beyond the theatre, having formed Moxy, a Bloomington-based band in which she serves as lead vocalist. The band performs throughout the local community.
Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Anna Shea was the Philadelphia-area Jimmy Award nominee for her portrayal of Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes during her senior year of high school. She was also a finalist in Michael Feinstein’s Songbook Academy in 2021 and 2022.
Anna Shea has a particular love for comedy and bold, spirited characters, and enjoys bringing humor, personality, and unexpected depth to her roles.
Outside of theatre, Anna Shea is passionate about fashion and design. A fashion design minor, she loves thrifting, styling one-of-a-kind looks, and finding inspiration in unexpected places.
